Right Next Door

Of all the things you need to worry about,
that make you want to scream and shout,
like poverty, homelessness and war,
there’s one more thing you need to worry about,
in case you haven’t figured it out,
it’s people playing music right next door.

Hear the music and the laughter
As the spirits start to soar
See the circle just get wider
As one more friend comes through the door

Now the founding fathers without a doubt,
woulda hadda wonder what the fuss was about,
didn’t they give us freedom of speech and privacy.
Why does it bother these people what we do in our homes?
Is it because we are not each all alone?
Sitting in the dark watching tv.

Now the very best music you ever heard,
may or may not have been in Pittsburgh,
but that is where we’re gonna take this stand.
We’ll defend your right to have your guests
come hear live music at your home address,
save house concerts across this land.

Cause there’s so many things to worry about
that make you want to scream and shout,
like poverty, homelessness and war.
When this world is too much on your mind
you’re gonna need a place where the music is fine.
We need people playing music,
people playing music,
Come on, we’re playing music right next door
